It is with delight we can confirm that the 2014 Meltham Memories Wartime Weekend will take place on the weekend of 4th, 5th and 6th of July.Yes, the same weekend as the Tour de France passes through Huddersfield. Hi. Its eddie, now ex 7 rha. I am almost all set for next years 1940's weekend again, have my bd all sorted out in airborne titles, along with webbing and helmet, only one thing missing at the moment; a nice lee enfield no 4 rifle which im finding impossible to find at a reasonable price that wont break the bank. most ive found are £475 upwards. May I ask where you purchased yours from or if you know of any dealers that are reasonable so I can get one before next years event. Regards eddieSee More

I agree with Mike Critchlow about the traffic needs diverting during the day-events.Also, there was a lack of DANCING event, opportunities.On the Saturday some of my friends had come to Meltham and left fairly early, as there was no event to dance to.When I arrived mid-afternoon on the Saturday, I started a stroll to the last songs of Lilli De Carlo--we had only a small pavement area...then this was the end of the dancing.As you will know, many enjoy these 1940'2 events for the dancing, as well…See More
